Just a quick update...

Sorry for not posting lately. I've got bad case of finger psoriasis (but not quite as bad as the pictures on google) and it hurts to even type this. I can't even unbuckle my little one from her car seat and every time I open the door it bleeds. Ouchie! :( I am getting better, tho. But as you can imagine, any kind of crafting is put on hold for now.

On the other note, I've got a ton of cards to make, because I have A TON and ton of birthdays & anniversaries coming up.

Hope everyone is doing good!

Happy ♥ Day!

Oh, my!!! Sorry it took me so long to get back here, after the aaaawful storm and both kids destroying the house, I needed to catch up on housework, laundry and all the little things we moms do to keep the house nice and neat :)

But I am back! LoL! Valentine's Day is approaching and a lot of people feel "iffy" about it, but I lve it! It is commercial holiday, but so many people don't express their love verbally and this is the perfect day to do so. And who doesn't love pressies (especially the chocolate ones .....).

I like pink & red, so I seized my moment to decorate with these two bright colors. I made a lovely garland spelling "Happy Day". I will update the close-up pictures as soon as my camera charges, that poor thing died while shooting the pics today. I've been using her daily - working on my Project Life by Becky Higgings. What an excellent idea. I've been loving it!!!

No Stamps used. Papers are from last year's (or maybe even older) Valentine's DCWV's collection. Hearts are cut using Spellbinders. Little middle border is by Martha Stewart's Tiny hearts scalloped edge (yep, I just made that name up). Pink crepe paper, pink ribbons and sparkly yarn. Nothing too difficult of too fancy - although, I think it looks pretty fancy ;)
I've got those cute golden angels at Michaels. I might be coming back for more. They are just so darn cute! I cut out the letters with my Cricut and Lyrical Letters cartridge, sparkled them up with Zing Embossing Powder - sparkling red, few Prima roses.

That's it!

Have a fabulous day!

Card no. 90 - Getting close to the Valentine's Day

Happy Saturday!!!

Yesterday was the first day I ventured out with my girls after a whole week hiding indoors due to the icy roads and sidewalks - even the local grocery store was closed! Oh, my! The South surely doesn't know is not prepared to handle snowy conditions. They said on TV that the city of Atlanta has only 2! plows - did you see how much snow we had?!! Incredible. But then again, it's never NEVER like this.

Anywhooo ... i went to the grocery store and surprise, surprise my engine light went off - so I took my car to the shop - from 11am till 4pm!!! Thank goodness Barnes and Noble was only short walking distance - with nice warm Starbucks ... he he he ... My daughter (a little spoiled brat - as she is) was surprised we had to walk. I had to explain to her that when I was a child - living in Slovakia - we only had to walk and walk some more. She was in shock! Ha! I should do this more often. We take regular walks around our neighborhood, but never further than that. So here is another challenge for this year - walk beyond our neighborhood's boundaries!

Today's card was such a joy to make! I just loooooove love love the LOVE themed cards. My favorite thing to create. And since I've never used those gorgeous rose ribbons from American Craft I wanted to use them and what a better theme than lovey-dovey.

The Front View
Tilda is colored with Copics & ProMarkers and sparkled up with Stickles (Star Dust). I made couple dimensional touches to give the card a little more "POP" effect.

I've got the new Making Memories J t'Adore papers and they ARE BEAUTIFUL!!! Surely wish I've got some more. I used the Spellbinders - Labels no. Ten and sewed the outside edges. The rhinestones are from Recollections by Michaels and flowers are by Prima. I added a little bit of sparkly chalk to the edges and Distress Ink.

Card no. 89 - Just Magnolia + Color Create + Few more Challenges

Happy Saturday Everyone!!! Another Birthday party behind us - LOL! I love 'em! It's fabulous to see friends and kids having the best time.

Apparently, a major winter storm is heading our way - we are in Atlanta area - so the stores are out of bread, milk and eggs - it tickles me because everything shuts down (stores, schools, even my dr. hubby doesn't go to work) when there is snow here in "the South". So I wonder what will happen in the next few days - a lot of people seem to be "freaking out". We haven't been living her for that long, so I can't picture this.

Anywhoo, today's card was made for sweet now 5 year old Kara. Her Gymnastics Birthday Party was sooooo much fun! And since she is THE ULTIMATE girly girl - what else to use than pink, white & red (from the Color Create Challenge) with hearts and sparkle. I used this week's Friday Sketcher's Sketch + Just Magnolia's Challenge (Anything Goes), teamed up with Simon Says Stamp Challenge - New Beginnings - I think new year as a 5 year old counts - right? - and Cute Card Thursday Challenge - Out with the Old - I used my last year's Valentine's Day papers along with my I-don't-even-know-how-old DCWV papers. The sweet Love Ladybug Tilda is colored with my ProMarkers, Copics Sketch & Ciao and spakled up with Stickles (Star Dust). The cute Heart Rhinestones are from Michaels and the gorgeous Heart Border is brand new punch from Martha Stewart - oh, yum! The lacy ribbon is by American Crafts - my new fave!
As you can see I still have to work on my coloring - the bleeding of my markers is just so hard to control. I am using Neenah Super Smooth paper, but I still have this happening - hmmmm .... need to work on the blending technique a little more. I also did a little bit of paper piercing. So fun! The Birthday stamp is by Inkadinkado and I just love it - I use it almost on all of my Birthday cards.

Q: Did you know you can use your 40% off coupon at Hobby Lobby to get your Copics? I just got mine ☺

Hope you're enjoying your weekend!

Card no. 88 - Sweet & Simple

Hope this one will be as good as 2010 or better.

I decided this year, that I will not make any resolutions - I pick a word - a word that should mean something - and live up to that word.
My word for 2011 is "Appreciation".
I even started a "little" diary where I will write (ideally) every day what I appreciate about that day, who & why.

We went to see Cirque du Soleil today and it was FANTASTIC!!! WowZies! Absolutely fantastic. If you've never gone and are thinking about it, it's worth seeing! The acrobats are truly stunning.

Today's card was made yesterday, but I haven't had a chance to upload it, until now. It's very simple and I thank the wonderful Alice from Alice's {Little} Wonderland for the brilliant idea. She is super talented and I juuuust love how beautiful and simple her cards are. Her blog is one of few I visit pretty much daily.

The Front View

I used one of my "never inked" stamps - the beautiful Suzette by Kraftin Kimmie - and colored her with ProMarkers & Copics and sparkled her up with some Punch Stickles & Copic's Spica Glitter Pens. What a fun Stamp!

The Image Detail

These beautiful rose flowers are by Prima and the middle one is from Magnolia-licious received as a gift. Thank you, they are truly beautiful!

The Flower Detail
The paper is plain Kraft paper from Jo-Ann's and I think DCWV (not sure about the collection, though). I sprayed the finished card with Tattered Angels' Glimmer Mist in Gold. Yummy!

The card is for my sister-in-law's 30th Birthday (as you can tell). Happy Birthday Em!
